She’s got everything that it takes to be a superstar. Nayanthara, the dynamic diva of south Indian cinema is brimming with energy and raring to go. Her Ithu Kathirvelan Kathal releases big today and we caught up with her for a crisp conversation on Valentine’s Day.
So what is she doing today? Pat comes the reply with a big smile: “I have no Valentine, and I believe that singles can also be equally happy on a Valentine Day. It is just a normal day for me, except that my film opens today and I’m excited”.
The extremely confident Nayan says she plays a normal, girl-next-door Pavitra a character that everyone will connect to. She confesses about an inside back-story on how she landed up in IKK. “I was approached to do Oru Kal Oru Kannadi opposite Udhay but due to date issues it didn’t happen and when I got this offer once again from the same team, I couldn’t say No”.
IKK, according to Nayan is another simple, straightforward story, a family drama which is a clean entertainer for everyone.
On media going ga ga over her fantastic comeback after a brief sabbatical and delivering back-to-back hits and trade pundits calling her a heroine with an opening, Nayan smiles: “Hits and flops are not in my hands. Good scripts will always work with the audiences. No star or heroine can guarantee a super hit. ”
On what next, Nayan quips: “I am off to Kumbakonam where the first schedule of Nanbaeda will start. The script is very good and I am looking forward to it”
