Superstar Rajinikanth’s KS Ravikumar directed Lingaa has been censored on Tuesday (Nov 25), and given a U certificate. The final post-production work on the film was progressing round the clock and the censor copy was ready only by yesterday afternoon.
Lingaa is now all set for a grand release on December 12, the Superstar’s birthday, which also falls on a Friday this year. Soundarya Rajinikanth Tweeted: “censor done .. “U” certificate :):):)

The entire trade is happy that the film has been censored and date announced, 17 days before its worldwide release. It gives the producers enough time for all promotional activities and also getting entertainment tax exemption in TN.
A beaming producer Rockline Venkatesh said: “ Lingaa has been made with a budget in excess of Rs 100 Crore. The film is script driven and will have an emotional connect with the audiences. Eros International who has bagged the rights of the film is planning to release it in 5000 screens across the world in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi on December 12.
