Not many knew about Bala’s life and the difficulties he faced while growing up, until the director himself chose to disclose those details through a column titled Ivan Thaan Bala (This is Bala) in a vernacular magazine.
However, that was quite a long time ago. From then, until now, not much has been reported on the director’s personal life.
However, after the Filmfare Awards, in which Bala’s cute kid was the cynosure of all eyes, fans have been eager to know about director Bala and his daughter.
Says a source close to the director, “Bala sir is deeply attached to his daughter Prarthana, who does not go to sleep until her dad comes home every night. She is very sharp and Bala sir is immensely proud of her. He is, in fact, teaching her old Tamil melodies by making her listen to them. That is because the yesteryear melodies are so much more meaningful. Prarthana too, has an ear for such melodies and has picked up swiftly.”
