Dhanush’s Velai Illa Pattathari (VIP) has opened well worldwide with positive reviews and a warm reception at the box office. Remember his last release Naiyaandi was a failure.
VIP has done Rs 4.36 Crore on opening day (July 18) and is likely to touch over Rs 12 Crore in its opening weekend in Tamil Nadu. At the US box-office the film features in among the top five of the year!
So the extraordinary positive response to VIP has come as a pleasant surprise to Dhanush. The actor is really overwhelmed and has thanked all his fans with tears of joy for making VIP a grand success. VIP has turned out to be the biggest opener in Dhanush’s career
Meanwhile Dhanush is in Mumbai shooting for his Hindi film Shamitabh. The icing on the cake was when he celebrated the success of the film with Shamitabh team in Mumbai. He also put out a picture on Twitter of Shamitabh unit – Amitabh Bachchan, Akshara Haasan, cinematographer PC Sreeram, director R Balki celebrating success of VIP with him.
